Feature Series ~ Kate Meader Hot in the Kitchen

Book 1

IF YOU CAN'T STAND THE HEAT . . .
Photographer Lili DeLuca spends all her time managing her family's Italian restaurant, instead of following her dream of getting an MFA. When famous British chef Jack Kilroy unexpectedly challenges her father to a cook-off, Lili decides she's tired of playing it safe and vows to seduce the tempting Brit. But once a video of her and Jack kissing goes viral and her luscious butt starts trending on Twitter, Lili fears she's cooked up a recipe for disaster . . .

. . . GET INTO THE BEDROOM
Jack Kilroy's celebrity has left him feeling used and used up. While Lili's oh-so-sexy moans when she tastes his delicious creations turn him on, he's even more aroused by how unimpressed this beautiful, funny woman is with his fame. He knows they could be amazing together, if she could only see past his bitch fork-wielding fan base. Now as he's about to start a new prime time TV cooking show, can Jack convince Lili to realize her own ambitions - and turn up the heat in his kitchen?
Ok ladies! Put on your aprons and get ready to for a great book. Feel the Heat by Kate Meader is one of the funniest books I have read so far. Let me tell you a little about it.

Liliana DeLuca is a photographer who manages her families Italian Restaurant, takes care of everyone in her family and is generally over looked by everyone. One night she is on her way home from a costume party (dressed as Wonder Woman no less) and she sees the lights on and hears noises coming from the kitchen of her families restaurant. That is when she takes matters into her own hands and smack world renowned chief Jack Kilroy over the head with a frying pan. Her older sister has booked Jack cooking show "Jack of all Trades" to tape there, she also wants Lili to hook up with Jack for a one night stand to help her get over being dumped by her fathers business partner.

Jack Kilroy is on his way to even bigger and better things. He is opening a new restaurant in Chicago, owns other around the world, is writing cook books, has a new cooking show in the works and wants people cooking his recipes on his cookware. He is driven, confident and totally taken by the beautiful woman that Lili is. Jack is done with a quick roll in the hay. He is tired of people only wanting him for his money, his looks and what they think that he can do for their careers. He wants more, and he wants more with Lili.

I really connected with Lili. Growing up as a pudgy kid, I can relate to the teasing and name calling that Lili went though. As an adult, still not a size 10, she is comfortable with who she is, but at times, the taunts of the school yard bullies still haunt her. Lili has a hard time believing that someone as handsome, wonderful and funny as the famous Jack Kilroy could possible be interested in someone like her. What I love the most about Jack is that he NEVER once looked at Lili as anything less that what she is. In his eyes, she is a strong, capable, sensitive, beautiful woman, and he will do anything that he can to protect her and convince her that they are meant to be together, while trying to help her fulfill her dreams of becoming a photographer. I really loved them together as a couple. They just seamed to be two halves of a whole.

Along for the ride is Lili's large, close knit, loud, nosy, meddling Italian family, (I can say this because I married into one!) and Jack's sister Jules. I loved the dynamic with these characters and their families. They will have you crying they are so funny! I loved everything about this book and look forward to the next installment of this wonderful new series. RUN to your computer and download a copy to your eReader! You will be sharing this story with all of your friends it is that good!

Book 2

Her sweetest mistake . . .

Cool as a Chicago winter, private events planner Cara DeLuca is a model of self-control . . . until she meets the one temptation she can't resist: Shane Doyle. The sexy, Irish pastry chef is too hot, too sure, too young, and after a crazy night in Vegas - her new husband. While at first Cara wants nothing more than a way out of her sham marriage to Shane, she soon finds that beneath his farm boy demeanor lies a man who can match her drive, both in and out of the bedroom. How can the wrong guy feel so deliciously right?

. . . Tastes so, so good

Shane has carefully structured his career and life around one goal: connecting with the family that doesn't know he exists. Marrying a woman with more issues than a magazine stand wasn't part of the plan, but melting Cara's icy exterior is so worth the detour. Now as the annulment date nears and long-buried secrets are revealed, Shane will have to fight for the one thing guaranteeing the perfect life he craves . . . the current Mrs. Shane Doyle.
"I'm Cara and I'm a perfectionist. I manage like noboby's buiness and I also happen to be related to Jake Kilroy

Cara DeLuca, the perfectionist, the cold, hard, "Lemon Tart" that everyone refers to her as, only appears perfect. But looks can be deceiving. One crazy night in Vegas at her cousins batchlorette party Cara does something wild, something crazy, something totatally not herself.....she marries a total stranger, Shane Doyle. Now back in reality land, she wants an annulment, but the more time that she spends with Shane, the more she gets to know him, the she begins to question her decision to end their sham of a marriage, and make it the real deal.

"I'm Shane and I'm an idiot. I make pasteries for a living, and I happen to be related to Jake Kilroy.

Shane Doyle, pastry chef, hot Irish hunk, cannot believe that after one night in Vegas he is married to Cara DeLuca. Shane has secrets that he has not shared with anyone, he has a plan. But when he is with Cara, he feels something that he has not felt in a long time. Being with Cara makes him want all of the things that have been missing in his life, a home, family, friends,......his wife. When the secrets come to light, Shane and Cara will have to make decisions about what is important and that their life, their love is worth fighting for.

Ok, All Fired Up by Kate Meader is the second book in the Hot in the Kitchen series. I have to say that I fell in love with the first book, and the second book makes me want to keep coming back for more. What I loved about this book you might wonder, well let me tell you.

The characters. I knew that there was more to Cara DeLuca than what meets the eye. But as this story unfolds you start to see her in a new light. Yes, on the outside she projects a cold, hard, "Lemon Tart" shell, a perfectionist who has expectations for herself and everyone around her, but on the inside, she is a scared, wounded soul, trying to make up for mistakes she made and secrets that she is afraid to share with her family. Not until Shane, does she start to open up, let someone see beneath the hard shell, to see the real person that she is.

Then there is Shane. He has held onto a secret that he has kept close for over 12 years. Beaten and abused by a drunk father, finding out that he has family that never knew he existed, he comes with a lot of baggage and a big chip on his shoulder. But at the story unfolds, Shane begins to realize that things are not what they seem, and that opening up might just be the salvation that he is so desperately looking for.

"Jack is the reason I walked into your life, Cara, but you are the reason I stayed.

There is a lot of humor, love, laughter, some heartbreak, but in the end, a WONDERFUL HEA. I would totally recommend All Fired Up, as well as the all of the other books in the Hot in the Kitchen series to anyone looking for a great story by a wonderful author. That is why I am giving All Fired Up 5 wonderful stars.

Book 3

A Fire They Can’t Put Out . . .

Although her baby boy keeps her plate full, Jules Kilroy is ready to take her love life off the back burner. Despite a bevy of eligible bachelors, it’s her best friend, Taddeo DeLuca, who's fueling her hormones with generous servings of his mouth-watering Italian sexiness. But Jules learned her lesson once before when she went in for a kiss, only to have Tad reject her. She’s vowed never to blur the lines again . . .

After a lifetime of excuses and false starts, Tad has finally opened a wine bar, a deal made even sweeter when Jules joins his staff. Lovers come and go, and he’s had his share, but friendships like theirs last forever. Still, ever since he tasted her luscious lips, he can’t stop fantasizing about what could be. Then she signs up for an online dating site—and the thought ofhis Jules with another man makes Tad’s blood boil. Even if he gets burned, Tad can’t stop himself from turning up the heat this time

"In this scenario, her brothers were Lennon and McCartney, and she was the quiet Beatle. The one who took a while to find his stride but then went on to outdo them all.

Jules Kilroy is a single mother, she is the younger sister of the famous Jake Kilroy and Shane Doyle, she has dyslexia, and to top it all off, she is in love with her best friend, Taddeo DeLuca. After one horrifying night, when she kissed him silly and he turned her down flat, she has been trying to hide her feelings. She is use to feeling inadequate, so all her life she has aimed low, let other people fight her battles, and never taken what she wants. But with Tad, she feels like not such a screw-up, like she has control over her life, like anything is possible. Now, she needs to help her best friend to open up to her, let her in, be the rock for him that he has always been for her. If she can accomplish this, she can accomplish anything.

"I'm crazy about you and Evan - don't ever think I'm not - but if someone tried to keep me from my kid, I would do everything in my power to change that.

Taddeo DeLuca has been in love with Jules since the first minute that she walked into DeLuca Restaurant. From that moment, he has been trying to keep is simple, be her friend, help her with her bonny baby boy, Evan, and keep his hands off. But one kiss from Jules and Tad realizes that no one else will do. But losing his parents, blaming himself and building a wall around his heart make Tad a bad bet in his eyes. But as Jules begins to break through that wall, to let the light back into Tad's life, he begins to wonder if the happiness and love that he never thought he would ever find is right within he reach.

I cannot tell you how excited I was to finally see Hot and Bothered by Kate Meader released. I have followed the ups and downs of Jules and Tad for the last 2 books, and I have to say, that their story was so totally worth the wait.

There are some many wonderful scenes and so many wonderful moments in this story that really touched my heart. Jules and Tad are PERFECT together. Everyone sees it, everyone knows it.....well everyone but them. They both have quick wit, smart mouths and are not afraid to call the other out on their bull. They are also so afraid of the mistakes that they have made in the past, Jules with her baby’s father, Tad with the guilt of his parents death, that they are afraid to believe that they truly deserve to be happy. But once they move their relationship from friends to something more, once they begin to truly open up and let the other in, they begin to see a future full of possibilities that they never thought were possible. I love we got to visit with the characters from the two previous books, I love the humor, the love that these character have for each other, for their families.

"It's the Holy Trinity of how I feel about you. I want you, I need you, I love you. There will never be anyone else for me, Juliet Kilroy.

These two truly deserved a HEA, and that is exactly what they got. If you are looking for a funny, touching, family oriented series, pick up Kate Meader's Hot in the Kitchen series. You will fall in love again and again and again. I loved this book and that is why I am giving it 5 beautiful stars.
