Soul Scavengers Blog Tour ~ Soul Scavangers Wilde and the Witch by Lisagh J. Winters

Psychic medium Olivia Emerson is young, gutsy, and out to prove she’s got what it takes to hang with the big boys. Although haunted by a past that threatens to consume her, Olivia accepts a job on a snow covered island that could make or break her career. She just needs to keep her past where it belongs- behind her. She knows this job could be her foot in the door, and hopefully the vehicle she needs to break into the business and take the next step up. The only problem; she’ll be working with him.

Paranormal investigator Sullivan Wilde has a healthy dislike for anyone claiming to hear or communicate with spirits. To him, they’re all frauds. He learned firsthand that just because you want to believe, doesn't make it real.

When Sullivan’s forced to work with Olivia, he’s not happy about it. She exasperates him, pushes his buttons, and doesn't have a shut off valve for that mouth of hers. He doesn't believe in her ‘gift’, and makes no apologies for it. Yet, as much as he tries to deny it, there’s something about Olivia that gets under his skin. The moment they’re left alone on the dock of the island, devoid of living inhabitants, everything changes. Some unhappy spirits, coupled with Olivia and Sullivan’s burgeoning feelings for one another leave them with no choice but to rely on one another if they want to make it through the night. Can Sullivan and Olivia put their differences aside in order to finish the job and walk out alive?

Excerpt #1

“You heard me, Ghost Man, now please, will you step away from there? You’re scaring the crap out of me!”

He grabbed a hold of one of the columns and leaned his body out over the ledge. “Come on Ollie, where’s your sense of adventure?” he teased. “WooHoo! I’m a flying Wallenda!”

“Sullivan, please! Stop it!” she begged him.

“All right,” he gave in, and set himself back over the floor, safely away from the thirty foot drop. “I didn’t know you were afraid of heights, Ollie. But here’s the thing, it wasn’t you hanging off the building, it was me.”

She whacked him in the arm once he was close enough. “It doesn’t matter! That was really stupid and irresponsible! All it takes is one little slip. What if you had fallen? What then? You’d be frigging dead!”

“At least I’d still have you to talk to,” he tormented her.

Excerpt #2

“You? You’re the clairvoyant?” This had to be a joke somebody was playing on him, and it pissed him right off. He made a mental note to choke Arnav when he got back home. “How old are you, fifteen?” No wonder she took the bus. She was a damned kid, probably too young to drive!

“Nice to meet you, too.” Olivia frowned and followed him around the vehicle. “Fifteen? What are you, blind?”

He gave her an appreciative glance up and down her dripping frame. “Absolutely not, I assure you. So answer the question. Do I need to sign some sort of parental permission slip?” he asked, turning away from her and digging through his pockets for a pen.

Excerpt # 3

“Ollie look, it doesn’t matter what I want. That isn’t going to help you get ahead. I want to see you succeed. What I say about this trip will go a long way to help with that.” He cast his gaze upward, steeling himself to say the words he knew he had to say. “I’m really impressed by you, and not because of that ghost-be-gone shtick you do. Uh-uh.” Sullivan leveled his eyes to hers and gave a remorseful sigh. “You showed grit, determination, and you haven’t tried to kill me with your bare hands. My producer predicted you might try. The fact that you didn’t run cryin’ your eyes out from the place after first contact was impressive enough all on its own. I’ve watched a lot of grown-ass men bail from an investigation, and that wasn’t the least bit reassuring,” he told her. “I know how you feel, and if it’s any consolation, Ollie, I know what I’m missing out on.”

Emma's Home cover

Beautiful Emma Dodd has always taken care of everyone. She raised her niece when they were orphaned and she cares for the students that she works with. Deciding to move to Fairfield where her niece now lives, she was hoping to finally find a place to call home. Jake Campbell, was gorgeous enough to catch any woman’s eye, but he had a hard time finding the right one for him. A Fairfield detective, he lives with his mother to help care for her since she was diagnosed with a debilitating disease. After meeting Emma, he knows he has met the woman of his dreams. Now he just has to convince the independent Emma that it is time someone took care of her. While helping one of her students, Emma becomes suspicious of criminal activity in her new town. Will Jake be able to save Emma in time for them to build a life together?   "Emma’s eyes shot up to Jake’s face. The face that kisses her so sweetly and whispers to her in the night. The face that calls her name when he comes inside of her. Now that face is so angry and his rage is focused on her. She could feel her chin begin to wobble, knowing tears were soon to follow. Jake was aware of the change in her, felt her breathing hitch, and some of his ire release. Knowing that she needed reassurance he took her face gently in his powerful hands. “Emma girl, I’m not mad at you. I’m mad that someone is fucking with the woman I love. Someone has threatened you, scared you, and I didn’t know that was happening. And a man like me, does not like to find out that his woman is being fucked over. So baby, we need to know what’s goin’ on.” Emma looked around at the room full of people, people that she knew cared about her. She had wanted to figure things out on her own and as much as she considered herself to be a strong woman, she was afraid. And now…. with someone trying to get inside her house, she was even more afraid. Looking down, she realized she was wringing her hands, trying to stop the shaking. “Emma,” Jake said again softly, knowing that she was still in shock. “Tell us about the notes.” Emma looked up into the baby blues that contained so much emotion; anger, fear, love. She knew she needed to trust that he would forgive her secretiveness and allow him to take care of her. Emma’s eyes shot up to Jake’s face. **I really enjoyed how she used so many emotions through out the book. I giggled and cried. I fell in love with all the characters. This story is about family, love, and finding your home. **This first novel by Maryann Jordan is so refreshing. It combines a passionate love story with a little mystery mixed in! Both of these combined makes for a story you cannot put down! **Absolutely LOVED this book! I had the honor to beta read Emma's Home, and I was blown away! This is a very down to earth and realistic story that will touch your heart. Not only is it steamy sexy but the challenges that Emma faces would be completely overwhelming to others. If you are looking for a book that has a very strong female lead, this is the book!! **I also love all the surrounding characters in Jake and Emma's lives. They are so supportive and funny. They bring so much life into the book as well. I have to say that I was surprised by the plot twist. I was not expecting anything like that to come into play in this book. However, I LOVED it. It broke this book away from all the other typical romances that are out there. **Maryann has done an amazing job with Emma's home. Not only did she give us our love story but she gave us drama suspense and a little mystery. I loved the story from the first chapter. This story makes u smile laugh and hurt with the characters you are pulled into the story and crave to see what happens next. It's truly a must read. **I truly LOVED this book. The story of Emma and Jake was super sexy and heart warming. Loved Jake's protectiveness. Loved Emma's independence. And the other characters were awesome as well and can't wait to catch up on them. Ladies, if you wear panties, leave 'em off, Jake will just melt them right off!!

I have always been an avid reader. Last year I started a blog to showcase wonderful writers. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created. I work as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 32 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap! Cover Reveal ~ Dominate by Sexxa Kohl

At Club Climax, men get more than they bargain for when they ask for me. Behind those doors, I don’t submit… I dominate. Men love it when I overpower them, when I take control. Some pay me obscene amounts to whip and degrade them, all to fulfill their own sick preverbal pleasures. But truth be told, it fulfills mine too. Every lash I deliver, every harsh action or word is for the girl that once had no control. The girl I will never be again. Not for anyone.

Being on the run, I can’t trust anyone. It’s the only way I can keep us safe. That’s right... us. When I walk out these club doors, I become someone else. I become Mommy. One thing is for sure, I will stop at nothing to protect him.

But sometimes the danger finds you, no matter how much you run, no matter how well you hide. My name is Devyn Wilder, but you know me as Honey. And this is my very fucked up story.

5 Super Star Series Review ~ Pendragon Gargoyles by Sydney Somers

Series
Review

Ok what I really LOVE about Sydney Somers Pendragon Gargoyles Series is that she takes you into the realm of fantasy, mythology and legend.  The premise of this series centers around Arthurian legend. Each group of paranormal characters are tied to the King Arthur and the hunt for Excalibur.  What I really enjoyed about this series is that it was set in modern times, but still had the connection to Avalon and the struggle between good and evil.  While creating a world surrounded by legend, it was not by any means a dry storyline.  It is packed with action, adventure, romance, and all of the creatures a great paranormal series should have.  If you like wraiths, this is the book for you, if you like dragons then you found them here, enchantresses, panther/wolf/gargoyle shifters, goddesses, evil queens, huntresses, and fae lovers will want to pick up this series.  It has something for everyone.  I love how each book builds on the story before it, at times overlapping from the other characters points of view, but always giving you a glimpse of what happened previously.  I was blown away by this series and hope that there will be more to come.  If you are looking for a HOT paranormal series, with excitement, a bit of adventure and a nod to the legend of Arthur, then pick up Sydney Somers Pendragon Gargoyles Series.  You will not be able to put it down and you will be panting for more.  I enjoyed this series so much I give it 5 Super Stars.

Primal Hunger (Pendragon Gargoyles #1)

Kennedy Beaumont loves her bartending job, even if her spirited nature sometimes gets her in trouble. Like threatening to hose down one of Pendragon’s co-owners. When it comes to Tristan, she could use a good hosing down herself—maybe it’ll help her stop casting him as the star of her wickedest dreams. Since he goes out of his way to avoid her, it ought to be easy to put him out of her head—until he reluctantly offers her a ride home.

Gargoyle shape-shifter Tristan Callaghan hasn’t had time for anything other than recovering the mystical dagger that was used to permanently lock his brother in a prison of stone. The cat inside him should have stopped craving Kennedy’s touch long ago, but now that she’s sitting next to him in his car, his very human need for her is sharper than ever.

The distraction is costly. In a split second, Kennedy finds herself thrust into a dangerous, millennia-old hunt for Excalibur. A hunt that marks her for death—and leaves Tristan with a painful choice—sacrifice his family, his quest…or the one woman meant to be his.

Warning: There’s nothing tame about this alpha male hell-bent on claiming his mate. Featuring bone-melting explicit sex, graphic language, violence and a little harmless bite…or two.

Kennedy has no idea why the co-owner of the Pendragon Bar can't stand to be around her.  She has never done anything to him that she can think of, but that does not stop her from dreaming about him night after night.  When her car breaks down on the side of the road, she is shocked when Tristan stops to help her out and give her a ride.  Little does she know that she is in for the ride of her life.

Tristan feels a pull towards Kennedy that he can not explain, and tries not to examine to closely.  He tries to keep his distance because being immortal, it is never a good idea to get mixed up with a human.  Besides, he has more important things to worry about, like trying to free his brother Cian from the encasement of stone that he has been in for over a century all because if him.  When Kennedy is marked for death, Tristan will need to make a choice, sacrifice his brother, or sacrifice the woman that the beast inside him recognizes as his one true mate.

This is the first book that I have read by Sydney Somers.  I have to say that first off, I love a good paranormal books, and Primal Hunger is not just good, it is GREAT!  It has everything that a great story needs, action, mystery, a very HOT hero, and just a touch of humor.  I loved Tristan and the struggles that he had to go through.  Blaming himself for what happened to Cian, and then torn between saving his brother and saving his mate.  Lets not forget the HOT and HEAVY connection between Kennedy and Tristan.  Just being in the same room with these two is enough to set off smoke detectors all over the place.  They sizzled the pages of Primal Hunger and made me want to keep coming back for more.

Primal Attraction (Pendragon Gargoyles #2)

He'll stop at nothing to claim her... If she doesn't kill him first. Pendragon Gargoyles, Book 2 A lethal huntress, Sorcha lives to track and eliminate rogue immortals-until her latest assignment turns out to be a sexy, gargoyle shape-shifter. From the start she's shaken by the lust his touch awakens inside her. Not only that, but the cat is convinced she's his mate, and for the first time, she's unable to kill her target. Still mourning the loss of his mate, Cale is stunned to find Sorcha alive. Yet the woman he aches to possess doesn't recognize him and is after the only thing that will save his brother-a mystical weapon that will lead to Excalibur. Determined to protect his family and reclaim his mate, Cale ruthlessly takes advantage of Sorcha's one weakness-her desire for him. Desire that could unlock their past...or cause him to lose her all over again. Warning: Featuring a sarcastic, ass-kicking heroine going toe-to-toe with the stubborn shifter who's dead set on reclaiming his mate. Also contains graphic violence, death-threat foreplay and scorching sex that will make you roll over and purr.

Sorcha is a Hunterss in the service of and loyal to the Goddess Rhianna.  She job is to target any immortals that threaten to expose their existence to the human race.  Now tasked to take out a gargoyle shape-shifter accused of treason, Sorcha has no idea that her past, a past that she cannot remember, is about to collide with her present, and may well change the course of her future.

For over 80 years, Cale has mourned the loss of his mate, the mate that was killed before his very eyes, the mate that he failed to protect.  To say that he is shocked that not only is his dead mate standing before him, but she is trying to take him down would be an understatment.  Realizing that the only way to try and stop her is to bargain for the dagger that will release his brother Cian from the stone that has trapped him for over a century.  Now Cale is in a race against the clock to try and save his brother, while trying to remind Sorcha of the love that they shared.

This is the second book in the Pendragon Gargoyles Series, and it overlaps Primal Hunger.  In this story, we meet up with Cale again and learn what happened to him after he disappeared.  What I loved most about Sorcha and Cale's story is that is was about a second change at love, a second chance at rebuilding a life.  Though Sorcha will never be able to remember her past with Cale, as here memories are wiped every 100 years, the connection between these two characters is indescribable.  The pain that Cale had over losing Sorcha was so real that it leaps off the page and grabs you.  The fear that Sorcha feels at knowing that she no matter how much she might want a life with Cale, it all seems so impossible makes you want to cry.  But at the heart of it all is the way these characters grow through the story and have to learn to trust each other and themselves.  The fights, the sparing and the insult slinging between these two was just as engaging as the love that they had for each other.  Their chemistry is so HOT it burns up the pages of this story and leaves you breathlessly wanting more, more, more.

Primal Pleasure (Pendragon Gargoyles #3)

He will have his revenge—one wicked seduction at a time.

Pendragon Gargoyles, Book 3

Emma is used to getting dragged into her twin sister's magical messes, but this time her predicament is more than a minor annoyance. She's chained to a cat shifter that her sister encased in a curse of stone. Worse, the unfortunate gargoyle's waking up. And her sister's not there to take the heat.

After a century suspended in stone, Cian would do anything to get his hands on the sorceress who put him there. Strangely, his dreams of revenge turn into an animal hunger to put his hands all over her—in every delightfully wicked way imaginable.

Never as talented as her sister, Emma doesn't trust her own magic. But for now she must let Cian believe she's the culprit in order to strike a bargain: to permanently lift the curse in exchange for his tracking skills to find her missing sister. The longer she is near him, though, the closer she comes to surrendering much more than her body to the brutal warrior.

As their attraction catches fire, Emma dreads what could happen when he learns the truth. If he will sacrifice her to break the spell...or fight for a love that goes beyond animal instinct.

Warning: This book contains adult language, violence, bone-melting explicit sex and a stubborn alpha male who likes his revenge served hot, wild and strong enough to bring him to his knees.

Emma has been cleaning up her twin sisters messes for longer than she can remember.  Half Sorceress, Half Fae, she is not as powerful as her twin, and at most times her powers are sketchy at best.  So how does she manage to undo the curse that Elena has placed on Cian, encasing him in a stone prison for over a century? Why does she feel so connected to the dangerous shape-shifter who seeks revenge for the curse?  Even though telling Cian and his family the truth, that it was not her, but her sister that caused the curse, might gain her her freedom, she needs his help in tracking her down after she is captured by a dangerous and deadly sorcerer.  Can she trust Cian with the truth and with her heart?

Cian cannot believe that after over a century that he is finally free, and to be finally holding his mate is a bonus.  But when his family tells him that Emma is the one that cursed him, he begins to doubt the cat inside him.  She cannot truly be his mate, she must have enchanted him into believing it is true.  He needs her to remove the spell before he and the animal inside him become so separated that he losses himself for good.  If helping her track her sister is the only way to remove the enchantment, then he will do what it takes.  Can the animal within convince Cian that it is not majic, but fate that rules his heart before he loses Emma forever.

Ok, this is the third book in the Pendragon Gargoyles Series and it does not disappoint.  What I loved most about Emma and Cian's relationship is that they were so unsure of it, thought that it was an enchantment, yet it was still somthing so primal and ingrained that neither could deny it.  I loved how protective that they each were about the other, Cian wanting to protect Emma at all cost, Emma trying to keep from pulling Cian deeper into her sister's problems.  Emma was the so very relatable.  She was strong and fierce, yet there was a vunerablity about her that just made you want to help her.  Cian's confusion about the world around him (after being trapped in stone for a century you would be confused too) lead to some extremely funny situations.  Together, Cian and Emma gave each other something that each of them were missing, Cian gave Emma the confidence that she needed to truly use her powers.  Emma gave Cian the love that he didn't even realize that he was missing in his life.  They SCORCHED the pages of this book with their passion and chemistry and the ending to their story was truly majical.

Primal Temptation (Pendragon Gargoyles #4)

Condemned to darkness…tempted by passion.

Pendragon Gargoyles, Book 4

Enslaved by a vengeful goddess, forced to live on blood, Lucan can barely remember life as a knight of the Round Table. Yet when one woman’s touch awakens millennium-old feelings that tame the savage darkness within him, he has no choice but to deny their all-consuming passion—for her own protection.

Cat shifter Briana Callaghan has watched all three of her brothers find their mates, but love isn’t in her future. Especially when her mate turns out to be a lethal mercenary…and the only man ever to break her heart.

When she’s chosen to compete in the Gauntlet, an immortal death match, Briana realizes the prize—the sword Excalibur—is her only hope of severing the fierce bond that has the power to destroy her.

Stunned to find themselves pitted against each other, Briana and Lucan quickly find that the only thing they’re fighting harder than their enemies is their sizzling, heartbreaking chemistry. But even if they survive the Gauntlet, claiming the woman he loves will be as impossible as letting her go.

Product Warnings
Contains adult language, skin-tingling sexual tension over a thousand years in the making, and a brutal warrior unable to resist the only woman to appeal to both the man and the monster within.

Lucan has kept his distance from Briana, tried to avoid her for as long as he can.  But one night at the Pendragon Pub and a spell by a mischievous enchantress throws them into each others arms once more. Lucan is tempted to take what he has denied himself for so long, but knows that if Rhianna finds out she will use Briana against him.  Trying to do the honorable thing, he tells Briana over and over that she means nothing to him, that it was just the magic of the night that she is felling, knowing that every time he denies his true feelings, he dies a little more each time.

Briana is the youngest of the Callaghan Clan.  She, like her three brothers, has finally found her mate.  But there is a problem.  He is a wraith, the same wraith that marked her brother's mate for death.  So for now she will keep her silence, not telling anyone, not even Lucan that he is her mate.  After being denied by Lucan time and time again, Brianna begins to believe that the cat within her will turn against her, leaving her as one of "The Forgotten".  Can she convince Lucan that together they can fight the darkness inside him and have a future as long as they fight for each other?

When both of them are pulled into the Gauntlet, forced to compete against each other, forced to hurt each other, all for the prize of Excalibur, will they make the choice to use the sword to break the mated bond, or will they chose each other always?

Ok, hold on to you hats, cause the forth book in the Pendragon Gargoyles Series is going to take you on a wild ride.  This book is full of action and adventure (not that the other 3 books were lacking in any way). You will visit the past through flashbacks and scenes so real that you would swear that you were actually present.  You will feel the heartbreak of both Briana and Lucan as they struggle to fight the feelings that they so desperately want nothing more than to act on.  What I loved most about Lucan is that through everything that he has been forced to do since being punished and forced to kill and live as a blood sucking mercenary, he remains the noble knight, wishing to prevent others from suffering.  What I loved about Briana is even though she had her doubts that she and Lucan would every truly be together, at the heart of it, she never really gave up.  She kept fighting for him, fighting for her, fighting for them until she could make him see that they were just meant to be.  Yes they sizzled the pages of this book, but their story is so much  more than that.  There are so many things that I would LOVE to reveal about this book, but that would just spoil the story.  I will not reveal any spoilers, but I will say this, by the end of the book, you will be craving more, more, more.
